406 Assembly Proceedings, May 14-June 6, 1719.

Resolved it pass as it now is. Thereupon the bill will pass
which was so Endorst and sent to the Upper House by Mr
[Tyler] and Capt Frisby
They return and say they delivered it.
Ordered the Committee of Laws prepare a bill against buy-
ing Selling farming or giveing or takeing of Gratuitys for
offices.
Ordered that the Committee of aggrievances inspect the
Act for limitation of officers fees and make their report there-
on to the house and ordered that Capt Codd Coll: Maxwell Mr
Walter Smith Majr Emerson [&] Cap' Colegate be added to
the Committee.
The Bill to prevent the Cutting of Intailes within this prov-
ince was read the first time and Ordered a second reading to
Morrow.

The house adjourns till to Morrow Morning eight a Clock

Fry day Morning May the 29th 1719

The house meet according to adjournment
Yesterday's proceedings are read.
Bill for the relief of Languishing prisoners read again &
referred for further Consideration till next Sessions of As-
sembly.
Supplementary bill to the Act for causing Grand & Petit
Jurors and wittnesses to come to the provincial & County

Courts and Ascertaining their allowances was read the first
and second times by Especial order and will pass, which was
so Endorst.
Bill to prevent the Cutting off Entailes was read the Second
time and will pass which was so Endorst.
A Bill reviving an Act of Assembly of this Province En-
tituled An Act for the ordering and regulateing the Militia of
this Province for the better defence and Security thereof read
the first and Second time by Especiall order and will pass
which was so Endorst.
And sent to the Upper House by Mr Hill Mr Caldwell Major
Phillips and Mr Wailes.
They return and say they delivered them.
Coll: Addison from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker
the Supplementary bill to the Act for Appointment of Con-
stables Thus Endorst viz:

May the 29th 1719

Read with the Amendments proposed and will pass.
