whatever is Done will be Lasting. Whereas if any thing be
done now it will be Liable to the Exceptions of Interested
psons & so our Labours become fruitless, besides we have no
reason to hope that his Excy Can Allow of anything that may
be [done] at this time from the reasons he gives in Our Mes-
sage of the first Instant.
Gentl, tho we are of Opinion with you that some Offices are
Grievously Burthensome And want a Regulation yet we think
it Improper to Eenter upon it at this time for the Reasons
abovesaid & therefore Recomend it to Your Serious Con-
sideration to Bring in a Bill to Continue the Act relating to
Officers Fees for so short a time rather than by Letting it
Drop Involve the Country in Difficultys the Consequence
Whereof we are not able to Determine
