Propagate Learning we are of Opinion that whilst that Law
is Adjudged so usefull & necessary for the p vince it Ought not
to be Dispensed with & therefore Cannot agree to the Pro-
posall

On a hearing Between John Clements on behalf of an Act
passed the Lower House in his favour & Capt. John Rider &
Majr Roger Woolford on behalf of themselves & the Rest of
the Inhabitants of Dorchester County.
It is the Opinion of this House that Mr Clements has not
made Appear that he has a Right to the Lott of Land in Dis-
pute But the said Clements alledging his Evidences are Sick
that Can prove his Right Particularly Jno MoKirk it is thought
Convenient by this House that the Consideration thereof be
referred till next Session
And the Bill so Endorsed & sent to the Lower House p Mr
Lowe who Returns & says he Delivered it

The House Adjourns till Afternoon

The House meett According to Adjournment
Present as before noon

Mr John Diggs files his Exceptions to the Bill for the
Reliefe of John Beale & Richard Beale in writing which is
Recd tho the Time be Elapsed for the fileing it.

And Ordered that Mr John Beale file his Answer thereto
by five a Clock
On Reading the Bill for Cutting of Entailes the following
message is Prepared Viz.

By the uper House of Assembly
May 30th 1719
Gentl. It is the Opinion of this House That the Laws of
Great Brittaine have made a Sufft pvision already for what
this Act seems to pvide agt

Sent p Col Ward who Returns & Says he Dd it
Mr Robert Tyler and Mr John Brannock from the Lower
House with the three following Engrost bills viz.
A Supplementary Bill to the Act for appointment of Con-
stables and what Relates to their Office &c.
