By the uper house of Assembly

May 29th 1719
Gent.

In answer to Your message of the Twenty fifth Instant by
Mr Codd and Mr Smith, his Excellency having Declared to this

House that Col Lloyd shewed him a letter directed to the sd
Col Lloyd from Capt John Hyde wherein was Inclosed the
Opinion of the Lords Comissioners of Trade, whereby they
sett forth that the several Sums allowd him by the Publick
for his Attendance as a Councellor dureing the Time of his
Presidency was his Right,
And for that the said Col Lloyd is now dead we think it
Reasonable his widow have time till the next Session to Pro-
duce that Opinion or make such other Defence she shall
think fitt; Unless this is thought a sufficient Satisfaction.
And as to that part of Your Message relateing to Mr
Rousby, This House is of the Opinion that so much of the
mony ariseing by that Duty as has been stopped for the
Receivers Sallary, was Misapplyed but that there was no
other fund to allow it out of, Except such as was also Appro-
priated,
And Mr Rousby having laid before us his Accounts of that
Duty, Proved before the Governour and Councill wherein he
had Allowance of his Sallary, We take it he is Sufficiently Dis-
charged by the Law.
His Excellency is pleased to Observe to this House that on
his Arrivall in this Country he found that his Predecessors in
