Navall Officer and paid to the Treasurer or Treasurers of
this pvince for the time being to be disposed of to the Uses afd
As my Lord Propry with the Advice of his Councill or his
Leivtt Govr and Councill for the time being in his Lordships
absence shall direct. The other three shillings to be received
and Collected at their severall ports by the Navall Officers for
the time being or such other pson or psons as my Lord Propry
shall from time to time appoint And by them paid to my Lord

Propry his receiver Generall or such other Officer or officers
as he shall direct to receive the same. Provided nevertheless
that in the absence of my Lord Propry himself out of this Prov-
ince, one shilling part of the said three shillings and three
pence to be raised by Act be applyed towards the maintaining
the Station & Dignity of his said Lordships Leivt Governour
Actually Inhabiting and Resideing within this pvince And to
such other necessary uses towards the Support and defence of
my Lord Propry Government of this Province as in his Lord-
ships Wisdom to him shall seem meet And in Case of the death
or Absence of such Leivt Governour the one-half of the said
twelve pence applyed to the Support of Government as afd that
shall Arise in such Vacancy shall be applyed to the mainten-
ance and Support of such pson of his Lordships Councill As
his Lordship by his Instructions to his Leivtt Govr or otherwise
shall appoint to preside And to such other necessary uses
towards the Support of his Lordships Government as in his
Lordship's Wisdome to him shall seem meet the other half
towards the building an house for his Lordships Leivtt Govr
for the Time being to reside in, the mony for the said building
to be lodged in the Publick Treasurers hands and to be applyed
and layn out in such manner & place as my Lord Propry or in
his Absence his Leivtt Govr & Councill shall appoint.

Which being approved of by this house Resolved the follow-
ing Message be prepared Viz.

By the Uper house of Assembly June 5th 1717

Gent. His Excellency having Comunicated to this house a
method pposed by the Lord Propry for that part of the Law
that relates to his revenue and Imposition on Tobacco in lieu
of his Alienation fines and Quit Rents We have Considered
the same & is approved of by this house as Concise & Compre-
hensive of which we desire your Consideration
