Construction of all the pceedings of this Sessions

Sent p Coll Tilghman who returns and says he Delivered it
Brought up by Col John Ward and five Others from the
Lower House the following message Viz.

By the Lower House of Assembly

May the 10th 1718
Gent.

We Doubt not but the reasons we have already Offered in
our former Message this Sessions together with the Remark
of his Lpp having Assented to a Law that allows the Deduction
of the Eight p Cent will sufficiently evince how farr the
matter of Right is in our favour but this House taking into
Consideration his Lpps Continued Goodness in assenting to
and promoting such Good Laws as tends to our comon Benefitt

and the many Advantages we reap by his Lpps present Happy
Admrcon Cannot in gratitude Contend with His Lpp where his
and Our Intrest are only in Dispute And therefore we have
Ordered the Publick Treasurer to allow and pay the Deduc-
tion made on Account of that Sallary Taking leave on this
Occasion to assure your Honrs that as we have allways En-
deavoured Inviolably to Defend the Country's right so we
shall allways be more easily moved by the Impulse of Grati-
tude Towards our Benefactors than by any Other Politick
motives whatsoever.

return and say they Delivered it.

May It Please your Lordships.
Your favourable Opinion of the Sincerity of our Proceed-
ings in Relation to Mr Macnemara's Suspention from his
Practice in the Court of Chancery lays us under an Obligation
of Acknowledging our most Grateful Resentment of the Honr

your Lordship was pleased to do the Councill of Maryland by
Concurring in our Sentiments on that Affair. We think our-
selves Oblidged in Duty to Assure Your Lordships that on all
