Disabling Thomas Macnemara Esqr to Practice the Law
therein
Read and Assented to by the Lower House and being read
is assented to by this House And Lt Coll Samuell Young sent
to acqt the Lower house thereof.
Coll Scott and Mr James Frisby with an Engrost Bill for
Laying the Publick Levy of this pvince this psent year 1718.
Read & Assented to by the Lower House and being read is
Assented to by this and Esqr Hall sent to the Lower House to
Acqt them thereof.
Coll Mackall and five others from the Lower House with
the following message Viz.

By the Lower House of Assembly
May the 9th 1718

May it Please your Honours
This House Taking into Consideracon the great Expence

the Roman Catholicks and their Adherents have Subjected
his Excy the Govr to by their unjust Complaints against him
which were foundd on no other Cause then his Zealously Es-
pousing the Intrest of this Province agt their attempts have
Resolved that his Excy ought not to be at the sole Charge of
Defending the Publick And therefore have Ordered the
Honble Samll Young Esqr Publick Treasurer of the Western
Shoar to pay unto his said Excy or Order the Sum of Two
hundred pounds Sterl. with which Desire your Honours Con-
currence And that you will be pleased to Joyne with us in an
Address to his Excy Desiring his favourable Acceptance
thereof as a Token of our Gratitude

Resolved that the following be sent to the Lower House in
Answer thereto

By the Upper House of Assembly

May the 9th 1718
Gent In answer to your message by Coll Jno Mackall and
five Others we Cannot but Comend you in the Just regard
you have to the Expence his Excy has been at in Defending
