Read & Assented to by the lower house
And being Read is Assented to by this house and Colo
Young sent to acquaint the lower house thereof.
John Beale Esqr & two others with a Bill Declareing the
Rights of three Lotts Originally laid out in Annapolis for the
uses therein mentioned
Passed by the Lower House
Read in this house the first time and will Pass and so En-
dorsed & sent down by Col Young who Returns & Says he
Delivered it.
Colo Jas Maxwell & Mr Thos Emerson from the Lower
house with the follo Message Viz.

May It Please Your Honre

Pursuant to your message of the 5th Instant relating to the
Continuing of the payment of the I2d p hhd by the Act made
in June 1715 till the 29th of September following We did
yesterday send for Mr Charles Carroll late Agent for the
Propry of this Province At the Time of the making that Act
who Appeared before this House And Being Demand'd to
give an Account of the Disposition of that duty & whether the
Lord Benedict or his Exrs ever Accepted or Signified their
Intentions to Accept thereof on the Consideration it was
raised he Promised to send his Answer thereto in writing this
day, and Thereupon sent us the annexed Answer whereby
your Honrs may perceive how farr that I2d p hhd has been
Accepted & how applyed.
As to Mr Carroll's Intimating the rents Being attacht in
mony it was a thing unaskt from him for we are well Assured
that the Person for whose use those Rents were Attached
never Designed any thing But what was Honble as may Ap-
pear by Publick Letters to the Sevll Sherriffs for that Purpose
And believe none of the psons whose Rents were so Attached
will sustain any Damage on that Account.
