as well by Land as Sea agreed upon between her Majesty &
the French King and also Several Gazetts & Votes of the
House of Commons I gladly take this opportunity of com-
municating such acceptable news to you which Shews so
delightful a Prospect of an approaching Peace so glorious to
her Majesty and advantageous to her Kingdoms & Dominions

The Council adjourned until Eight of the Clock to morrow
morning.

Thursday October the 30th 1712

The Council Sate Present as yesterday with the addition
of Col Thomas Greenfield.
Col Hoskins and seven others of the Delegates bring up
the following answer to his Honours Speech to them yesterday

To the Honble Edward Lloyd Esqr President of her Maj-
esty's honble Council of Maryland and Commander in Chief
thereof.

We her Majesty's most dutiful & Loyal Subjects the Deputys
and Delegates of the said Province in Assembly convened in
most humble manner crave Leave to return your Honour our
most dutiful & hearty Thanks for convening us at this Time

when the Country we represent needs so much succour &
relief, the deplorable Condition whereof In some measure
we greatly hope will be lessened by the delightful Prospect
of the glorious & happy Peace we expect will follow the Sus-
pension of Arms agreed upon between her Majesty & the
most Christian King, Her Majesty's royal Proclamation for
declaring the same so happily arriving before the Time of our
meeting: And your Honours prudent Care in so timely Com-
municating it to this House

As it always hath so we hope it ever will be the Care and
Concern of this House to have it in their View to dispatch in
a Convenient Time the necessary Business that lyes before
them with such other Commands as your Honour hath to lay
upon them and that with as little Charge as the necessitys of
those we represent will bear assuring your Honour this House
have under their Consideration the methods for raising such
necessary Supplys as shall be needfull to defray the publick
Charge of this Province for this present year Wherein we
gratefully acknowledge your Honours Care and Endeavour
to make it as light & Easy to its miserable Inhabitants as you
