We have too much reason to apprehend the Death of our
most gracious Queen. It is thought fitt you do not proceed
to any other Business save that of Settling the publick Levys
The Speaker & Delegates returned to their House
Mr Stoddert & Mr Hill brought from their House the fol-
lowing Message Viz.
By the House of Delegates
October the 8th 1714
May It please your Honours
His Excellency having directed us to waive all Business this
Session but laying the publick Levy by reason of the doleful
news of the Death of her sacred Majesty Queen Ann our
Sovereign We desire your Honours to put in your Claims,
that the publick Accompts may be stated being ordered that
no Claims be received after ten of the Clock to morrow
morning

Resolved the following Message be sent to the Delegates
We do believe it advisable if all the publick Claims can be
adjusted by to morrow noon and the Journal of the Committee
of Accompts agreed to, It may be proper to make an Act of
Assembly for levying the Charge & appoint three or four
members of your House or more to join with some of this
Board to apportion the respective Allowances in the several
Countys
