Read and assented to by the House of Delegates, and
Signed p Order Tho. Macnemara Cl. Ho. Del.

An ingrossed Bill reviving and continuing an Act of As-
sembly of this Province entituled an Act for the ordering and
regulating the Militia of this Province for the better Security
and Defence thereof and for supplying some Defects therein
Read and assented to, by the House of Delegates, and
ordered to be indorsed thus Viz.

By the House of Delegates
2d July 1714

Read and assented to by the House of Delegates &c.
Signed p Order Thos Macnemara Cl. Ho. Del.

Both the aforegoing Bills were sent up to her Majesty's
Honble Council by Mr James Lloyd, Capt Jowles, Capt Ennalls,
and Major Sprigg.
They return and say they delivered the same

The House adjourns till One O'Clock in the Afternoon

Friday Afternoon.

Then the House met again according to Adjt Present as in
the Morning.
Colo Thomas Addison and Philemon Lloyd Esqr from the
Honble Council enter the House and deliver Mr Speaker the
Bill for laying an Imposition of 3d p Hhd on Tobo for defraying
the Charge of the Province with the following Indorsement
Viz.
By the Council in Assembly
July 2d 1714

Read in Council and being considered that by the Act for
Advancemt of Coins all Duties and Impositions for defraying
the Country Charge are to be collected and paid in Currency
so that it may be fit to add to the first Clause in the Bill the
words "any Law, Statute, Usage to the Contrary notwith-
standing." And it is further recommended that the Bill be
only Temporary as for 3 years and to the End of the next
Sessions of Assembly after the said 3 years with which Amend-
ments the Bill will pass.
