Then was read the Petition of Benjamin Woodward and
Mary his wife formerly the wife of Wm Seward praying Leave
to bring in a Bill for reinvesting an Estate in Mary and Ann
Seward Daughters and Co-Heirs of the said William Seward
in a Tract of Land called Sectar and Council being heard at
the Bar on both sides, the Question is put whether Leave shall
be given to bring in a Bill. It is Resolved in the Affirmative
by Majority of Votes.

Colo Coursey, Lieut Colo Young and John Dorsey Esqr
from the Honble Council enter the House and deliver Mr
Speaker the Bill for Limitation of Officers fees with the follow-
ing Endorsement Viz.

By her Majestys Council in Assembly
July Ist 1714

This Bill with the Endorsement thereon being read and
considered and the several Fees examined this Board cannot
think the Officers Fees are any ways exorbitant especially
considering the little Advantage the several Officers for many
years have and are still like to make of their Tobo Wherefore
it was put to the Question whether this Board will recede from
their former Opinion on this Bill communicated to the Dele-
gates or not? And Resolved That this Board do not think fit
to recede therefrom but recommend that the former Law for
Limitation of Officers Fees with the explanatory Act thereto
be revived

The House adjourns till to Morrow Morning 8 O'Clock.

Friday Morning 2nd July 1714

Then the House met again according to Adjournment and
being called over was psent as yesterday.
Then was read what was done yesterday.
The Question is put whether the Bill for Limitation of
Officers Fees shall be revived with Amendments to endure
for 3 years or to the End of the next Sessions after 3 years. It
is Resolved in the Affirmative these be the Amendments by
Majority of Votes.
Ist That the Sheriff shall be allowed 10 lb of Tobo p Day for
Imprisonment Fees and Victuals twenty four Hours and no more.
2dly That all the Fees to be allowed by the House to the
Honble the Speaker and Clerk of Assembly shall be upon
Execution.
