We agree that our answer to your Message of the 28th
June by Col Holland and Col Young was not Categorical,
but the matter therein being of great Concern to the Country,
And that mature Consideration is requisite for instancing the
particular Statutes we have thought fit to refer it to the Con-
sideration of the next Session of Assembly to which we pray
your Excellency's & Honours' Concurrence
We return your Excellcy and Honours our hearty thanks
for expressing your Willingness to bring this Session to a
Speedy Conclusion
Signed p order Thos Macnemara Cl Ho Del.
The said Gentlemen also brought up a Bill for laying an
Imposition of three pence p Hhd on Tobo for defraying the
publick Charge of this Province
Read in their House the first & Second times & will pass
Which being by especial Order read the first & second times
at this Board It was considered that by the Act for Advance-
ment of Coyns all Dutys & Impositions for defraying the
Country's Charge are to be collected and paid in Currency.
So that It may be fitt to add to the first Clause of the Bill the
Words Any Law Usage or Statute to the contrary notwith-
standing
And further It is recommended that the Bill be only tempo-
rary as for the three years or till the End of the next Session
of Assembly after the three years with which Amendments
the Bill will pass
And being so Endorsed was sent to the House by Col
Addison and Mr Philemon Lloyd.
