Which is thought very reasonable & Ordered that such
Letters be wrote
His Excellency is further pleased to propose whither It may
not be reasonable the Clerks of the Several County Courts in
this Province should not be obliged once in the year to send
his Excellency Copys of the Judgments and Proceedings of
their Courts
The Board do think if the County Clerks send Copys of
their Doggetts It may suffice with the reason of their Several
Continuances & of their Adjournments contrary to the Settled
Times appointed by Act of Assembly
It being offered at the Board that tho the common Law of
England is generally received in this Province yet Several
Statutes of England which may be very beneficial in this
Province are often denyed to be of Authority with us The
sd Statutes not particularly including her Majesty's Plantations
by expresly mentioning them
His Excellency says he believes It may be very advisable
to write to their Agent in England to have the Opinion of
some of the Queen's Council & of others eminent in Law
what Statutes are in force in this Province
Col Ennalls requests the favour of his Excell and this Board
that he may have leave to go home on very urgent Affairs —
which was granted him
The Council adjourned till half an hour after three in the
Afternoon
