Mr Robert Tyler and thirteen more members of the House
of Delegates brought from their House a Bill for Settling a
Revenue on her Majesty's present Governeur And the follow-
ing Message Viz

By the House of Delegates
Friday 25th June 1714

May It please your Excellency

Having considered the Instructions your Excellency Sent
to this House yesterday & finding her Royal Majesty the
Queen has been graciously pleased to admitt us to make a
present to your Excellency of 3d p Hhd on all Tobo Exported
out of this Province during your Administration here, with all
Alacrity and Affection we lay hold of this opportunity of
making you that present not questioning but your Excellencys
Administration among us will be easy just & answerable to
the Gracious Designs of her Majesty the true Pattern of Piety
Justice & mercy and conformable to the Laws of the Land.
We shall take that part of the Instruction relating to an
House or Rent into our further Consideration

The afd Bill was Endorsed by Especial Order of the House.

Read the first & second times and being again Read & En-
dorsed thus. This Bill being read in Council the first & second
Times by especial order will pass the Words ready mony being
made Sterl mony for that there is no Advantage redounding to
the Freighter in this province by the Masters Choice to pay
the Duty in Currency We being always charged Sterl by the
Merchants. Nor is your Present now of Equal Value with
what It was to Col Seymour Coin not being then advanced.
Was with the Endorsement Sent to the Delegates by Col
Holland Col Coursey Col Ennalls Saml Young Esqr & Capt
Dorsey together with the following Return from his Excellency
to the House of Delegates on their presenting him the afd
Duty of 3d p Hhd on all Tobo Exported Viz.

Mr Speaker —
I am extremely obliged with the ready Compliance the
Gentlemen of the Assembly have shewed to her Majesty's
permission of allowing me your free Gift of 3d p hhd on all
Tobaccos Exported.
Your Pleasure of giving it me during the Time of my Gov-
ernment cannot but be very Grateful to me and I will En-
