And the President was pleased to declare if the Emperour
should offer him ten thousand skins he would not consent to
any such thing

The said Indians said that in the Lord Baltimores time they
gave to the English their Hands but now they offered them
their Hearts and were resolved not to leave the Country
where they had so long lived but to live with the English as
if they had one Father and mother. They complained they
had not the Satisfaction proposed for the Robbery done by
the Malletts on their Quankosine House and the Honble Mr
Philemon Lloyd being Present declared that as the greatest

part of that mony had been lodged in his Hands he was always
ready to Satisfie them but that they would not agree whither
they would take it in mony or Goods That he had at last
sent for suitable Goods for them but was willing, in Case they
desired it, to supply them with what mony they desired.
They desired one hundred Shillings The said Indians com-
plained that lately several English brought Liquors to sell at
their Town & particularly one John Mallahone & another
called long John of Somersett County that though we are all
good Friends yet Rum & Cyder will make Indians quarrel &
Storys will be made & Indian Women with child will be
frighted.

When the Indians go to hunt they desire the English may
not disturb them
The Bill against false packing Tobo being read at the Board
the first time Resolved this Bill will pass with the following
Amendments

That whereas several People will complain It is an Hard-
ship upon them to throw away all their small dull Scrubby
Tobo & ground Leaves upon packing the same in Casks or
otherwise not facing it with good Tobacco with design of
deceit & declaring to the Person purchasing or receiving Such
Tobo the nature & Quality of that Tobo they shall not be lyable
to the penalty in this Bill further recommending that the
penalty be not less than a thousand pounds of Tobo

Endorsed will pass. And sent to the house by Col Ennalls
& Col Tilghman
