complained of to this House by the Committee of Aggriev-
ances upon the Petition of Several of the Inhabitants of this
Province — that after any Law or Acts assented to by your
Honours & this House, and passed the Great Seale here (be-
fore her most sacred Majesty's Disallowance thereof Signi-
fyed) should be held for Null and Void — by some of the Jus-
tices of the Provincial Court & particularly the Act passed the
last Session for relieving some Aggrievances for notwithstand-
ing that Act, as the petition setts forth several psons are still
sued and prosecuted in the sd Court for small sums

We cannot but conceive & agree with the Petit™ that At-
tornys are Encouraged so to do by the favour of the Person
that in the said Court Acts both as a Judicial & Ministerial
Officer

We assure your Honours we have no other End herein but
out of a due & tender regard & duty incumbt on us to en-
deavour to redress the Aggrievances of the People we repre-
sent —

And we do with all dutiful respect lay the sd Aggrievances
before your Honours not doubting or any wise apprehending
but that your Honours will (notwithstanding the relation be-
tween the Person and your Honble Board) have a just &
tender regard to the Satisfaction & relief of her Majesty's
Subjects & in your Wisdoms redress such Aggrievances as
are laid before you by the representative Body of this Prov-
ince, and we conceive this to be one of the first Rank & wor-
thy your Honours Consideration And tho we can have no
suspicion of that Gentleman's Honour and Integrity yet we

crave leave to say it is an ill Precedent and may be of ill Con-
sequence if in process of Time any avaritious or designing
Person should be in that Station

Ordered that the said Address lye on the Table to be con-
sidered by the members of this Board

Mr Worthington and two other Members from the House
acquaint the Board that the Nanticoke Indians complain that
money was lodged for Satisfaction of the Injury done them by
the Malletts. Which they have not yet received. And there-
fore desire Enquiry might be made where the same is lodged

Ordered that Enquiry be made accordingly

Capt West & three other Delegates bring up a Bill impow-
ering Thos Edmonson to Sell Lands for the paymt of John
Edmonsons Debts
