will be the best Means we can propose not only for the Secur-
ity and Preservation of the said Arms and Ammunition but
also will be a means to keep them well fixed and fit for the
Country Service.

Upon reading the aforesaid Message the House took the
same into Consideration and having debated it put the Ques-
tion whether such Magazine Houses are convenient & neces-
sary to be built or not? It passed in the Negative And
Resolved the Arms and Ammunition continue in the Officers
Hands as they now are until next Session of Assembly.
Resolved upon reading the Complaint of the Inhabitants of
Charles County and the Depositions relating thereto That
Mr Philemon Hemsley and Mary his Wife Relict and Execu-
trix of Colo John Contee late of Charles County deceased,

appear before this House at their first meeting the next Session
of Assembly and lay before this House an Account of what
Arms & Ammunition were lodged in the Hands of the said
Colo Contee belonging to the Public and how the same is
disposed of
Resolved That an Order issue to Colo Robert ffinley Com-
missary of the Arms, Commanding him to lay before this
House at their first Meeting the next Session of Assembly
what Arms & Ammunition the late Governor or himself
allotted for Charles County & into whose Custody the same
was committed.

The House adjourned till to Morrow Morning nine O'Clock

Friday 7th Novr 1712.

The House met according to Adjournment Being called
over were all present as Yesterday.
Read what was done Yesterday
Sir Thomas Johnson's Petition praying Leave to bring in a
Bill to supply the Defect of the Acknowledgment of a Deed
made to him by Edward Hancox deceased. Read and Leave
given to bring in a Bill as prayed

Bill reviving the Act ascertaining the Height of ffences and
restraining Horse Rangers. By especial Order Read the first
and second Times and will pass.
Bill against striking ffish &ta Read the third Time and will
pass
Bill for killing Squirrels by special Order read the first and
second Times & will pass
