To the Honble Edward Lloyd Esq. President of her Maj-

We her Majesty's most Dutiful and Loyal Subjects the
Deputies & Delegates of the said Province now in Assembly
convened in most dutiful and humble Manner crave Leave to
return your Honour our most Dutiful and hearty Thanks for
convening us at this Time when the Country we represent
needs so much Succour and Relief; the deplorable and sad
Condition whereof in some Measure we greatly hope will be
lessened by the delightful Prospect of the glorious and happy
Peace we expect will follow the Suspension of Arms agreed
upon between her Majesty and the most Christian King, Her
Majesty's Royal Proclamation for declaring the same so
happily arriving before the Time of our Meeting and your
Honours prudent Care in so Timely communicating it to this
House. As it always was so we hope it always will be the
Care and Concern of this House to have it in their View to
dispatch in a convenient Time the necessary Business that
lyes before them and that with as little Charge as the necessi-
ties of those we represent will bear assuring your Honour this
House have under their Consideration the Methods for raising
such necessary Supplies as shall be needful to defray the
publick Charge of this Province for this present Year wherein
we gratefully acknowledge your Honour's Care and Endeav-
ours to make it as light and easy to its miserable Inhabitants
as you could, but the Opportunity of returning in a few Days
to our respective Habitations will never induce us willingly to
leave the Country we represent in the same Condition it was
when we were elected
Your Honour cannot be more sensible of the Notion some
have that you may assent to any Law that may be proposed
than this House are of your tender Care and Concern to
