The Upper House.


& rendred unserviceable upon any sudden Emergency for the
Defence of the Province by their being distributed into several
hands which renders the visitting those Arms & Ammunition
difficult and thereby Exposes them to be misapplyed —
We cannot but think it is absolutely necessary for the Wel-
fare of the Province that small tight twelve foot houses or
such as may be thought convenient be built in each County at

or near the County Court Houses as Magazines wherein to
lodge the Arms & Ammunition of each respective County by
which they may be frequently visitted & kept in better Repair
at Small expence

Col Holland came & was added to the Board
Mr Macall and three other members bring up a Bill to make
good & Valid the proceedings of St Mary's County Court &
A Bill for the Relief of Tobias & John Pollard Read in the
House the first & second times which being read at this Board
the first & second Times were sent back to the House by Col
Greenberry and Col Tilghman
Mr Tyler brought up Prince Georges County's Petition
against the ferry at Mount Calvert voted an Aggrievance by
the House of Delegates
To which the Board Concur and thereupon ordered that
the Justices of Prince Georges County Court do not further
continue the said Ferry at the County Charge
Capt Jones & Mr Dare came from the House and saw Mr
John Rogers Sworn to his Naval officers Accompt of Potow-
mack District
James Preston appears on recognizance & upon his Petition
setting forth that he was Windbound & could not come to the
muster is dismissed on promise to do his Duty
The Board adjourned until nine of the Clock to morrow
morning

Saturday October the 27th 1711.
The Council Sate Present as yesterday
Mr Walter Campbell and two other Delegates bring up the
following Message Viz.

By the House of Delegates
October 27th 1711

Upon Application of the Committee of Accompts to this
House for directions in allowing for the Seals to the Laws
sent for England — The House resolved that they ought to
