A Bill confirming the Probat of the Will of John Harrison
of Charles County deceased

A Supplementary Bill to the Act for appointment of Con-
stables and what relates to their Office and ascertaining what
Persons are taxables

A Bill reviving an Act of Assembly of this Province Enti-
tuled an Act imposing 3d p Gallon on Rum Wine Brandy and
Spiritts and 20s p poll on negros for raising a Supply to defray
the publick Charge of this Province and 2osh p poll on Irish
Servants to prevent the importing too great a number of Irish
Papists into this Province

A Bill reviving an Act of Assembly of this Province enti-
tuled an Act for Encouragement of Tillage and relief of poor
Debtors

A Bill reviving an Act of Assembly of this Province Enti-
tuled an Act laying an Imposition of 3d p Hhd on Tobo for
defraying the publick charge of this Province

All which said Bills were read & assented to by her Maj-
esty's honble Councill and carryed down to the House by
Saml Young Esqr & Capt Dorsey

A Bill preventing the Inhabitants to sell any Quantity of
Liquors to the Indians and to restrain false rumours and re-
ports relating to them being read at the Board was agreed to
& sent to the House of Delegates with the following Message

By Col Whittington and John Hall Esqr Viz.

By the President and Council in Assembly
November the 10th 1712

The honble President and this Board being throughly Sen-
sible that many great disorders are committed by Indians
when in drink & of the too frequent ill practices of Persons
selling them great Quantitys of Liquors and also that some
evil People have not been wanting to raise utter and Spread
sundry false reports tending to Create misunderstandings and
Jealousies between us and them We have therefore thought
fitt to recommend the Bill herewith sent you for prevention
thereof

Further we have thought it expedient to send some worthy
discreet Persons to the Several nations of Indians to Caution
them to advise their Indians of the Penaltys our Laws inflict
upon Several breaches they have made thereof and may here-
after be guilty of and that we expect the offenders should be
delivered up to Justice upon any just Complaints against them
for any Felonys Larcenys Menaces Batterys or the like mis-
