A Bill declaring the Division of several Counties to be firm
and Stable
The said Bills were read severally Endorsed and with these
this day read sent to the house by Col Addison Col lenkins
Col Lloyd and Mr Cheseldyn
Came Col Maxwell and Mr Joseph Gray with the Bills pro-
viding what shall be good Evidence to prove foreign debts
which is read and that Clause for pleading never demanded
recommended to be as in the former Law and sent to the
House by Col Hammond
The Board adjourns 'till nine of the Clock to morrow

Council Sate Present as yesterday
Col Ninian Beals Letter taken into Consideration it was
ordered that Col Addison Col Beale and Col Smallwood
acquaint the Piscattaway Indians that they make choice of an
Emperour and present him to his Excy at Annapolis to be
Confirmed and that at that Time it is Expected the Indians
should pay their Tribute and renew their Articles.
Came Mr Hodson and four other members and bring up
the following Bills Engrossed.
A Bill ascertaining the Expences of the Delegates of As-
sembly
A Bill confirming all proceedings to this present Time
A Bill relating to the Standard of English Weights and
Measures.
A Bill laying an imposition of nine pence p Gallon on Rum
Wine and Spirits
A Bill prohibiting Commissioners Clerks Sheriffs and De-
puty Clerks to plead as Attorneys
A Bill against Excessive usury
A Bill for the preservation of the several Harbours
A Bill declaring the Grantees of Land within the Indians
Land shall have Action of Trespass against such as Carry
away Timber
A Bill for publication of Marriages
A Bill against Ingrossers and Regrators
A Bill prohibiting Masters of Ships and others to transport
or Convey away Persons out of this Province without Passes
A Bill Confirming to the Governour the Duty of 3d p Tunn
A Bill for publication of all Laws
A Bill declaring it Felony to alter tobacco after received
