slightest Assurance of such Freedom or Toleration All which
is of the same Piece with the latter Part of the Petition seem-
ing to insinuate as if her Majesty would forget the minutest
Thing for the Ease & Advantage of her Subjects.
Neither has this Board any Reason to be satisfied with the
Petitioners Construction of the Houses Intention which they
say was until her Majesty's Pleasure should be known that
they might not be disturbed in the Interval of Assemblies.
But we hope we have a better Right and with better Rea-
son to judge it was quite contrary thereto for otherwise to
what End was the Penal Act made or the suspending one
limitted to Eighteen Months a certain Time perfix'd

Which being read in the House the Bill was ordered to be
laid aside.
Colo William Holland from the Honble Council enters the
House and delivers Mr Speaker a Petition of Samuel Chew
and Nehemiah Birkhead praying Liberty to bring in a Bill to
confirm the will of Naylor late of Ann Arundel County de-
ceased. Read and ordered a Bill be prepared.
Bill for Advancement of Trade read the first Time with
Amendments and committed again for further Amendment.
Colo William Holland from the Council enters the House
& delivers Mr Speaker the following Message Viz.

By the Council in Assembly, April 15th 1706.

Whereas in a late Session there was an Order made that
the Powder House should be removed within the Town where
the Governor thought fit but forasmuch as the Undertakers
ask above ten Pounds therefor and will run no Risque in Case
it should fall in Pieces we desire the House will while they
now sit treat with workmen to do it.

Which being read its ordered that Mr Samuel Young and
Major Charles Greenberry treat and agree with some Under-
taker for removing the said House and make their Report
thereof to the House in the Afternoon

Ordered That Colo John Contee and Mr Henry Coursey
draw up and prepare an Address to her Majesty on the Pro-
posal for Copper Coin and also for an Allowance to refund
Money made use of out of the 3d p Hhd. &ca

The House adjourns till two O'Clock Afternoon.
