Being called over were present as on Saturday.

Read what was done a Saturday

Upon reading a Scheme of what Laws of England were
held to be in force in this Province reported to the House by
Colo Thomas Smithson pursuant to a former Order the House
find it not to be so perfect as they expected.

Therefore Resolved That Mr Robt Goldsborough and Mr
Nicholas Low inspect the said Scheme of those Acts and
report the same more amply to the next Session of Assembly.

John Hammond and Francis Jenkins Esqrs from the Honble
Council enter the House and deliver Mr Speaker the Bill for
suspending Prosecution of Popish Priests &ta Indorsed. By
his Excellency the Governor and Councill in Assembly April
13th 1700

The Petition of the Roman Catholicks signed by Colo
Henry Darnall, Mr Charles Carroll, Mr Richard Bennett, and
Mr James Carroll being this Day read at the Board it is ob-
served that the Petitioners tho' they so stile themselves rather
seem to Challenge than petition for a Toleration and Freedom
and unhandsomely charge the General Assembly with infring-
ing the same which they cannot have the least Reason to offer
seeing at the Time of making the Act they had not even the
