County Courts and that the Fines of such Licenses are now
vested in the Country we desire you will concur that the poor
Woman taking out a License and giving Security according
to Law may sell a Dram only without being obliged to pay the
Ordinary Fine of 1200 lb Tobacco p Annum

The House adjourns till two O'Clock in the Afternoon

Post Meridiem. The House met again according to Ad-
journment. Being called over were present as in the Morning.
The Petition of John Coode late Sheriff of St Mary's County
for an Allowance of Imprisonment Fees of two convicted
Felons Read & debated &ca Resolved he be allowed 1 5000 Ib
of Tobacco in full Discharge of all his Accounts to this Time
Mr Coode being called into the House the same is proposed
to him which he readily accepted of and returned the House
thanks & then withdrew.
Mr William Coursey enters the House and delivers Mr
Speaker Bill for uniting New Port Hundred to William &
Mary Parish in Charles County indorsed thus

By the Council in Assembly April 9th 1706

Read the first and second Time and will pass.
Bill prohibiting Protestant Servants being sold to Papists
and white Women Servants working in the Ground brought
into the House and read the first Time put to the Question
whether the Bill be committed for Amendmt or not carried by

Lib. 41.

Majority of Votes it be committed for Amendment.
Bill for Division and regulating several Counties on the
Eastern Shore.
Read the first and second Times and do pass. Sent up to
the Council by Mr Elias King, Mr John Jones, Mr John Mackall,
Mr James Hay and Mr John Maclaster together with the fol-
lowing Message Viz.

By the House of Delegates April 9th 1706.

This House prays his Excy the Govr will please to name the
new County proposed by the Bill herewith sent
