Post Meridiem

The House met according to Adjournment.
Being called over were present as in the Morning.
Read the Petition of Samuel Dorsey of Ann Arundel County
the Consideration whereof is referred till Monday Morning.
The Petition of Mr Edwd Hancox praying Preemption of a
small House built by the Public at Wapping Wharf read and
rejected.
The Petition of Job Evans & Sarah his wife relating to fifty
Pounds Sterling allowed John Perry late constituted Post of
this Province read and ordered the Petitioner appear on Mon-
day Morning and produce his Proofs to maintain the Petition
Upon the Petition of the Men that guarded the Powder House
praying Relief in receiving Pieces of Eight at six shillings for
their Services and that the House will grant them Allowance
to make up their just Pay Resolved they be advanced Money
to make good their Pay according to their Allowance by the
Committee of Accounts and that Mr Charles Carroll make
good to the Treasurer the money according to her Majesty's
Proclamation
The House adjourns till Monday Morning Eight O'Clock

Monday April 8th 1706

The House met again according to Adjournment.
Being called over were present as on Saturday.
Upon reading the Paragraph of Aggrievances relating to
Land Records Ordered Mr Coode and M r Josephs be called
into the House, who appeared and the House having examined
fully the matter against Colo Coode relating to that Land
Record they are ordered to withdraw and being withdrawn,
the House proceed to debate the same but finding no proof
therefore dismist.

The Petition of Thomas Reading referred till this Day
ordered to be read and the Petr called into the House, who
appeared and the Petition read as followeth.

To the Honble Speaker and the Honble Members of the
House of Delegates.
The humble Petition of Thomas Reading constituted Printer
of the Province of Maryland, humbly prays
That your Honours will please to order the Laws of this
Province to be printed and this House would give him En-
couragement for the speedy finishing the same ; and that your
Honours would please to settle some Annual Salary for his
Support and Encouragement for which he will be obliged to
