Ennalls relating to the Conferrence and ordered that a Mes-
sage be sent up to his Ex'cy & Council in Answer thereto
which followeth.

By the House of Delegates April 5th 1706

May it please your Excellency,
Upon reading the Message by Colo Ennalls this Day rela-
ting to the Evil of Protested Bills it's resolved that this House
attend your Ex'cy and Council to Morrow morning to confer
upon the Subject Matter as desired.

Sent up to his Ex'cy & Council by Mr John Jones and Mr
Thomas Howe.
They return and say they delivered their Message.
The Petition of Samuel Dorsey brought into the House
and ordered to be read and considered of in the Morning.
The Committee appointed to enquire into the Aggrievance
of this Province enter the House & report as follow. By the
Committee appointed to enquire into the Aggrievances of
this Province. It is reported as follows Viz.
It's a most oppressive Aggrievance that the Inhabitants of
Pensylvania do yearly export out of this Province great Part
of those small Quantities of Goods there have been of late
imported hither from her Majesty's Kingdom of England
notwithstanding the great Necessity of Goods the Inhabitants
of this Province at present lye under and that the constant
Practice made of exporting for the Sake of Advantage what
sums of Money we have now left in this Province it is ad-
judged by this Committee that the same ought to be remedied
by some Act preventing the Pensylvanians to export hence
any manner of Goods (save the Produce of this Province) or
by such other Measures as the Honble House of Delegates
shall please to think fit It is referred to the Consideration
of the House of Delegates as an Aggrievance to the Inhabit-
ants of the whole Province that the Commissioners of Oyer
and Terminer in the several County Courts are limitted to
ten thousand Pounds of Tobacco or fifty Pounds Sterl. and no
more and it's humbly prayed that the House will address his
Ex'cy the Governor to take off the Limitation aforesaid
It is further represented as an Aggrievance that white
Women Servants work in the Ground (unless for making
Corn for Subsistence) whereby they are generally taken off
from Carding, Spinning &ca which is now hoped will be pro-
pagated in this Province and moreover thereby the too com-
