In Answer to your Message yesterday by Mr Hays and Mr
Jones desiring a Conferrence with this Board in Order to
redress the great Evil of protested Bills of Exchange his Ex-
cellency and Council are willing to have a Conferrence with
the whole House in the Council Chamber to Morrow Morning
at ten of the Clock upon the Subject Matter so pernicious to

The following Message prepared was ordered to be read
and entered.
By the House of Delegates April 5th 1706.
May it please your Excellency,
This House gives your Ex'cy their hearty Thanks for putting
them in mind to inspect that Matter relating to the three Pence
p Hhd which is given to the Country to provide Arms &ca
and they do humbly pray that your Excellency will be pleased
to give Order that that the Accounts thereof from the Time
the said Grant from the late King took place till this Time
may be laid before them that they may enquire into that
Matter and what has been paid thereon and what is become
of the monies.

They return & say they delivered their Message.
The several Committees are ordered to go out on the Comrs
Mr Samuel Young & Mr John Leach ordered to go out and
inspect the Records to make Report thereof in what Condi-
tion they are.
The Petition of Cecil County, the Petition of Talbot Coun-
ty, the Petition of Kent County, the Petition of Richard
Marsden, the Petition of John Baptist Tyler sent up to the
Committee of Laws to prepare Bills on them.
The House adjourns till two o'Clock in the Afternoon.

The House met again according to Adjournment.
Being called over were all present as in the Morning.
