The Representation of Thomas Jones relating to the Land
Records &c. was here read and ordered Mr Samuel Young
and Mr John Leach inspect the Land Records in what Condi-
tion they are and report the same to the House
The House adjourns till 8 O'Clock to Morrow Morning

Thursday April 4th 1706

The House again met according to Adjournment, were called
over & present as Yesterday and Thomas Greenfield Esqr
enters the House & took his Place.
Upon reading the Ordinance for cleansing & fixing the
publick Arms &c. Resolved That the House will address her
Majesty that the three pence p Hhd appropriated for pchasing
Arms & Ammunition when the Country is supplied with suffi-
cient the Remainder may be applied for fixing and cleansing
such publick Arms as shall be in the Province The Answer to
his Excellency's Speech brought into the House and ordered
to be read and entered as follows

May it please your Excellency,
We her Majesty's most dutiful & Loyal Subjects the Repre-
sentatives of the Inhabitants of the respecdve Counties of this
Province convened in this present General Assembly do give
your Excellency hearty Thanks for your gracious Speech to us
at the Opening of this Sessions.
Sir, We have a deep Sense of the Princely Care and gen-
erous Regards that the best & most benign of Princes our
most gracious Queen hath upon all Occasions demonstrated
to us for our Protection and Welfare and we do hope that the

Royal Care and Beneficence will at all Times be a Motive pro-
ductive of our sincere and hearty Allegiance together with our
assiduous and frequent Prayers to Almighty God for her
Majesty's long Life and happy Reign over us.
As to the erecting Ports & Towns we are resolved to take
that Affair into our Consideration with all the Speed & Dis-
patch that a Concern of such Importance is capable of and as
to all other Matters which your Excellency now hath or shall
think fit to lay before us and which may any ways relate to
her Majesty's Royal Instructions and to the Good and welfare
of this her Majesty's Province we will with all Chearfulness
and Assiduidty apply ourselves and be unanimous in our
Councils to the discharging the Duties incumbent on us.
Sir, We want words to express to your Excellency the
great Thankfulness and Gratitude with which our most gracious
Sovereign by her Nobleness and Princely Goodness hath filled
