our Hearts but do hope that all our present and future Actions
will demonstrate us to be no other than a Dutiful and thankful
People for all those Blessings of Favour and Protection which
her Majesty of her Grace and Goodness had bestowed upon
us not forgetting that very eminent one of placing your Excy
as her Majesty's Representative over us.

The Petition of Richard Marsden and others Gentlemen of
the Vestry of St Michael's Parish in Talbot County praying a
Bill for Sale of Solomon Jones his Lands for the use of the
said Parish psuant to the last will of the said Jones was here
read & granted. And ordered a Bill be prepared impowering
the said Marsden, Mr Robert Goldsborough, Mr James Lloyd,
and Mr Matthew Tilghman Ward, or any two of them, to make
Sale thereof as prayed.
Mr Samuel Young, pursuant to an Ordinance of this House
for purchasing Paper and Parchment for the publick use
brought into the House Viz. three Rolls of Parchment each
containing sixty Skins, two Ream of small writing Paper, two
Ream of small Dutch ditto half a Ream of Medium, and half
a Ream of Paper Royal which is ordered to be lodged with
the Clerk of this House for publick Services only and he to
be accountable for it.
Ordered That Mr George Muschamp, Mr Peter Watts, Mr
John Wells, Mr Nicholas Lowe, Mr Hugh Ecclestone, Mr John
Jones, Mr Thomas Frisby, Colo John Contee, Mr Robert Tyler,
Mr James Philips, Mr Joseph Hill, Mr John Leach attend his
Excellency at the Council Chamber with the Answer to his
Excy's Speech.
They return and say they delivered their Message.
Colo John Hammond & Colo Edwd Lloyd from the Honble
Council enter the House & deliver Mr Speaker the following
Message.

By his Excy the Governor and Council
April 4th 1706.

His Excellency observing what white Servants are or have
been for some years last past been imported into this her
Majesty's Province are generally Irish Papists who are induced
to come hither by the false, tho' specious Pretences, of the free
Exercise of their Superstitious Worship, and having Lands at
the Head of the Bay settled on them at the Expiration of their
Times of Servitude, so that many hundreds have been lately
