Wherefore It is recomended to the Consideration of this
Generall Assembly either to declare those Laws of England
reach hither (for the better Satisfaction of the several Courts
of Justice) or otherwise by some good Wholesome Laws to
restraine the said Offences.

The Petition of Majr Josiah Wilson read as followeth Viz.
To his Exncy the Governour & her Majestys honrble Councill
now Sitting

The Petition of Josiah Wilson Sheriff of Ann Arundell
County Humbly Sheweth

That whereas by an Act of Assembly of this Province for
Limitation of Officers Fees It is provided that any Officers
therein mencon'd having any Fees belonging unto them

which shall be by the Governour & Councill so adjudgd &
allow'd and not in the Same Act mentioned limitted and
allowed It shall be lawfull for such Officers to have Such Fee
or Fees as the Governour & Councill shall Adjudge & no
more as by the Same Act reference being had thereto may
appear, And there is not any Fee therein allowed the Sheriff
for the severall Services following Viz.

For a Declaration with the Writt 06
For Setting in the Stocks 1 2
For Writt of Electing Delegates & Indres 1 500
For only one Delegate 500
For a habeas Corpus 10
For Serving a Decl in Ejectment 200
For Serving a ne exeat Provinciam 200
For Serving a Writt of Replevin the Same
Fees as for Attachment or Execution.
For a Writt of Possession 250

Yor Exncys Petr humbly prays yor Exncy and this honourable
board that whereas he is obligd by his Office to discharge his
Duty in the performance of all and Singular the Premisses
when lawfully required which cannot be done without Consid-
erable Charge & trouble to your Petr he may be allowed for
the above particulars as to yor Exncy & Honrs it shall seem fitt
and reasonable and yor Petr as in Duty bound shall ever pray

Majestys honourable Councill do think the Fees in this Peti-
tion rated to be reasonable for the Services to be done and
performed by the severall Sheriffs in this Province and allow
the said Sheriffs to have take & receive the same and no more
