Mr Richard Bennetts Petition read praying leave that a Bill
might be brought in to ascertayne the Bounds of Worton
Mannor in Cecill County.
The Board do not thinke fitt to pass a Bill therefore ; for
that they are of Opinion the Lord Proprietors Grant will be
Sufficient to that End.

Mr Grey and Mr Ennalls bring up the Bill for preventing
fornication by white Women Servts Working in the Ground
which was ordered to lye on the Table.
They also brought up Mr Carrolls memoriall endorsed.

By the House of Delegates Aprll 11th 1706

This house designing to end this Session with what expe-
dition they can do resolve not to enter into any debate about
that matter. Therefore referr the Same to the Considration
of the next Session of Assembly

Fryday Aprill 12th 1706

The Councill Sate present as yesterday.
Colonel Thomas Ennalls upon urgent Business had the
Leave of his Exncy & this Boarde to go home.
Then were sent downe to the house The Act of Parliament
prohibiting Comerce with France and that for Encouragement
of Navall Stores to be Imported from these her Majestys
Plantations by Coll Jenkins together with the following Mes-
sage Viz.

By his Exncy the Governour & Councill in Assembly
Aprill 12th 1706.

Some Persons having been presented by the Provinciall &
Ann Arundell County Courts for Bigamy & for suffering a
Quaker Conventicle to be kept in their house, The Justices &
officers of those Courts are at a Stand in the Prosecution the
laws of England providing against those offences seeming
to them to be wholy restraind to her Majestys Subjects resid-
ing within the Kingdom of England so that for want of Law
in this Country those offenders expect to escape unpunishd

according to the old saying, Where there is no Law there is

no Offence.
