Apll 4th 1706.

His Exney thinks fitt to acquaint You that Sr Thomas Lau-
rence has, made his Complaint to her Matye agt the late Law
for Regulating of Ordinarys, Copye of wh Complaint is

herewth sent You that you may assert your Reasons for that
Law ; otherwise You cannot expect her Matys Royall Assent

Colonel Holland acquainting his Exncy and the Board that
his Wife lay dangerously ill, had leave to go home.
The Board adjourn'd for two hours.

Post Meridiem.

The Councill Sate prsent as before (Save Col Holland)
Mr Hays & Mr Jones bring the following Message from the
House.

By the house of Delegates Apll 4th 1706

Upon that parte of his Exncys Speech which dos relate to
the greate Evill which happens to the People of this Province
by Bills of Excha Protested for makeing some Provision of
Reliefe therein this House does pray that they may be ad-
mitted to confer with her Matys honble Councill and that his

Exncy will be pleased to appointe the persons tyme & place of

The Boarde adjourn'd untill eight of the Clock to morrow
morning.

The Councill Sate Present as yesterday

And ordered that Colonel Thomas Ennalls carry the fol-
lowing Answer to the houses message last night.

By the Council in Assembly Aprll 5th 1706

In Answer to your Houses Message yesterday by Mr Hays
& Mr Jones desiring a Conference with this Boarde in order
to redress the greate Evil of protested Bills of Excha His
Exncy and the Councill are willing to have a Conference with
the whole house in the Councill Chamber to morrow morning
at ten of the Clock upon the Subject matter at present so
pernicious to the Countrye.
