In Answer to Your honours Message by Mr Sanders pro-
posing a Conference with four of Yor board this house Concurrs
therewith and have appointed Six Membrs to attend the sd
Conference Accordingly Therefore this house desires that you
will Appoint the time & Place.
The Board Adjourns for two hours
Post Meridiem Councill Sate psent as in the Morning
Ordered that the Gentn of the house of Dell appointed on
the Conference have notice that the Gentn of this Board
appointed on the Same are Ready to meet them at Mr Smith's
Chamber.
And the said Gentn accordingly withdraw from this Board.
Read the Petition of Richard Young Complaining that the
house of Dellegates for the Mast which he had by his Exncys
Order sett up on the State house hill had not allowed halffe
the Value of his work & Expences which being Considered by
this Board the said petr was recommended to the house to
make him a Better Allowance.
Col Addison Mr Smith Col Hamond & Mr Cheseldyne from
the Conference Report as follows, viz.
By the Conference Appointed to Consider as well Con-
cerning the Prisoners now in Goale as the Guards at the
Magazine & Prison & the Rangers on Potomack Frontiers It
is Reported as foll vizt.
Proposed that whereas Benjamin Celie stand now Con-
victed and has Judgment to dye that to Save his life a Bill
may be brought in to Transport him to the West Indies and
sell him their for Seven years the Produce to be applyed to
ease the publiq Charge Expended on him.
Proposed also that whereas Humphrey Hernaman who is
now in Prison & has Voluntarily Confest that he by the Direc-
tion and Instigation of his Mistress Rachel Freeborne Con-
veyed a File to the Prisoners in Prison by which the Prisoners
then in prison were Enabled to make their Escape that a bill
may be brought in to Convict him of this and to Transport
him Considering it will be a great Charge to the province to
keep him in Prison till he be Tryed and Convicted according
to the Comon methods.
That after the proportions of the Magazine Stores are
distributed that the Remaining part shall be left at his Exncys
Disposal without the Charge of a Guard.
Proposed by the honble Councill by way of Enquiry into
the State of the Affair relating to the Rangers that they do
