Journal

By the House of Dell May 22d 1705

Upon Reading the Memoriall of Mr Charles Carroll Relating
to the land Law and Your honrs Message therewith this house
have Considered & Resolved that for as Much as this house
at the first opening of this Assembly Continued all References
on their Journall (and whereof this being one) Therefore pray
Your honrs Concurrence therewith & that the Same May be
likewise refered
Signed p Order W Taylard Clk house Dell.

Which is agreed to by this Board

The said Gentn bring with them Likewise a Bill for Out-
lawing Richard Clarke which was Read at this Board the first
time Assented to and sent down to the house by Coll Lloyd
& Mr Coursey with Mr Thomas Colliers Pettr Assented to by
this Board A Bill Confirming William Josephs Lrc of Attorney
and A Bill for Relief of Ann Arundell County.
His Exncy acquaints the Board that he was surprized to hear
that a Gentn of the County here & who bears a post should
tell the Soldiers now appointed to guard the Magazine &
Prison to look well to their Guard for they would be surprized
his Exncy thereon remarq that if the Gentn had no Reason for
saying so it was very foolish and unaccountable & if he had
Reason to believe any thing of it, It was worse that he did not
acquaint him therewith.

Majr Taylor & Mr Peter Watte Bring up the four following

Bills
A Bill for punishment of psons Selling or Transporting any
French Indian or Indians out of this Province. A Bill Declar-
ing An Act Intituled An Act for Electing Ann Arundll &
Oxford Towns into Ports & Towns formerly made to be in
force
A Bill Declaring An Act Intituled An Act for the Punish-
ment of psons Suborning Witnesses, and Committing Willfull
& Corrupt pjury to be in force.
A Bill declaring an Act Intituled An Act ascertaining the
Bounds of Land to be in force
Which were Read and Assented to by this Board & sent to
the house by Mr Sanders.
Ordered that the Sherriffe of Ann Arundell County do
Sumons Mr John Dorsey to Attend this Board. And that he
take into his Custody the Body of John Dawling so that
he have him before this Board in the Afternoon.
Came Mr Goldsborough & Mr Hays from the house with
the following Message viz.
