By the House of Delegates Dec. 8th 1 704.

Upon reading this Message this House readily concurred
with the Honble Council
Signed p Order W Taylard Cl. Ho. Del.

The aforegoing Messages with their Indorsements were sent
up to the Honble Council p Mr Eccleston & Mr Howe. They
return & say they delivered the same.
Proposed by a Member whether it may not be of Service
to the Country to raise a Duty of 6d p Hhd. on Tobacco
towards defraying the Charge of rebuilding the Stadt House.
Resolved it be referred till further Consideration.
Mr Greenfield shewing that his Wife lying very ill at Home
prays Liberty that he may go Home.
Which was granted by the House.

Lib. 41.

Bill for rebuilding the Stadt House at Annapolis Read the
first time. Ordered it be read again.
Bill for Division of St Paul's Parish &ta and a Message about
Masters of Ships publishing Freight &ta sent up by Mr Frisby
& Mr Thomas Beale.
They return & say they delivered the same.
Remonstrance on behalf of the Roman Catholicks being
brought into the House was ordered to be read & was thus
indorsed, Viz.

By the House of Delegates December 8th 1 704.

Upon reading the within written Remonstrance in this
House the House are inclined to indulge the Roman Catho-
licks in the private Exercise of their Religion in their own
House & Families and therefore they do pray the concurrence
of his Excellency the Govr and her Majesty's Council therein
that a Bill may be brought in which may allow them such
Liberty as they have prayed.

Ordered That Major Taylor, Mr Joseph Gray, Mr Francis
Dallahide, & Mr Saml Magruder carry it up to his Excellency
& Council. They return & say they delivered the same.
Thomas Tench & James Sanders Esqrs enters the House &
return the several ingrossed Bills this Day sent up by Mr
Mackall & Mr Dallahide ; being severally indorsed as follows.
December 7th 1704. Assented to by her Majesty's Honble
Council W Bladen Cl. Council.

The House adjourned till two of Clock in the Afternoon
