Thomas Tench Esqr enters the House and delivers Mr
Speaker the following Messages.

By the Governor & Council in Assembly
December 8th 1704.
The Powder House where it now stands so far out of the
Town is liable to be easily fired by an Enemy or other evil
disposed Person his Excellency does not think it safe there.
Wherefore it is proposed that the House be removed within
the Town in such convenient Place as his Excellency Shall
think fit that it may be under the Care of the Person appointed
to look after publick Buildings.

Which was read & ordered by the House to be indorsed
thus
By the House of Delegates December 8th 1704.
Upon reading the within Message the House well approved
of the Proposal & does concur with the Honble Council
therein Signed p Order W Taylard Cl. Ho. Del.
And likewise the following Message was read in the House
Viz.
By his Excellency the Govr & Council in Assembly
December the 8th 1704.
Whereas the publick Records are at present lodged in the
Free School his Excy & this board have agreed with Mr Evan
Jones a sober careful pson to look after that & all other pub-
lick Buildings which now are or hereafter shall be erected in
this Town for Fear of Fire at the Rate of £10 Sterling p
Ann. to be paid by the public with which we desire your Con-

Being read was ordered to be indorsed.
