Resolvd that the following Message be Sent in Answer
thereto Vizt

By the house of Delegates Septr 30 1704
Wee haue Againe considerd the Message touching the
honoble Wm Blathwait Esqr which was resolved once last
Sessions And that is that the Office Was not Erected for our
benefitt nor are Wee Concernd to Support it, the Crowne that
Created the Office has Annexd A Suitable Sallary to it And
that Wee are Sencible of Wee haue A great honour for the
Gent Since he is thought worthy of such Eminent Employment
And as his Excy is pleased to say is ready to receive Appli-
cations for the province And Wee hope While wee behave our
Selves as Good subjects his Justice will intitle us to his Counte-
nance And Any favour he shall be pleasd to doe us Wee shall
not be backwards in Suitable Acknowledgments.
Wee Wish Your honors knew the publiq Stock because You
are pleasd to press us to Severall Allowances that wee haue
not Money to Answer therefore Wee pray Yor honors to inspect
the Same And then consider Whither Wee do not the Utter-
most Wee cann. Signd p order Wm Taylard Cl h D

Which being read was Approovd of by the house And Sent
up to the Councill by Mr Wm Aisquith Mr Iames Maxwell &
Mr Gerrd Fowlk.
They returne and say they deliverd the same
Iames Sanders Esqr enters the house and brings with him
the Address, Which was Sent to be Engrost.
The honob Ino Hamond Esqr enters the house and delivers
the bill for limittacon of Officers fees.
Endors'd. Read & Assented to by her Majts honoble
Councill. Wm Bladen Cl Co.

Orderd the following Message be entred. Wee haue con-
siderd Yor honors Message touching paying tob at 1dpll And
that You think it of 10s p Cent Vallue.
Wee see by the reasons Yor honor Gives that You doe not
beleive it Worth 10s now but hope it will and that Against
All prospect
However in honor to his Excy our Governor Wee Agree it be
so taken And it shall be Accordingly so Calculated.
