The honoble Ino Hamond enters the house and delivers Mr
Speaker the following Message.
By the Councill in Assembly Septr 29 1704
Wee haue considerd the houses Message last night by Coll
Smallwood and others and Agree to the Sume of 2000l tob for
each Coppy of the laws this Sessions As Alsoe to the fees
Setled for private bills as Explained by yor Message but finding
the house under A mistake About such fees to our Clerke
desire it may be better considerd And he Allowd Equally with

The Lord Baltemores objections to the land law And the
houses Answer to the same was Againe debated And orderd
to be thus Endorsed. & Sent to the Councill Vizt

By the house of Delegates Septr 29th 1704
The within reasons is offerrd to this house in Answer to the
Lord Baltemores Objections to the land law And tho Wee are
of opinion that the said law ought to be Revis'd so As to
Answer the Ld Baltemores reasonable objections Yet because
of the other great Matters under prsent consideration time Will
not Admitt, so carefull Examination as the same ought to be
done with Therefore Wee pray yor honors to Ioyne with us in
A Small bill to continue the same law in force till next Sessions
of Assembly when by Gods grace it may be revisd As it ought
to be And this wee pray to the end that the province may not
in the meane time loose the benefitt of the Usefull And Neces-
sary part of the said law.

They returne And say they deliverd the same
Proposd by A member of the house for the more Ease in
the Administration of Iustice to the inhabitants of this province
Ist That the province be devided in two Circuits Vizt the
Westerne And Easterne Shoare.
2d That four Iudges be Appointed for each Circuit
3d That care and provision be made to support the ludges.
4 That the County Courts be Abridged And limitted in
their Iurisdiction
