Vol. 17.

And thereupon is referrd to the Comittee of laws to pre-
pare A bill to Setle the fees.
The house Adjournes till 2 A Clock in the Afternoone.

Post Merediem

The house met Againe being calld over were present as in
the morning.
Mr Iohn Taylor orderd to goe up to some of the offices for
A printed body of laws.
He returns and says that there is none perfect but what be-
longs to the County Court office And that Mr Bordley the
Clk refused to send it
Upon which he was orderd to goe to said Bordley and
Acquaint him that the house comands the laws Imediatly to
be sent
Mr Taylor comes againe into the house & says he has been
with Mr Bordley and Acquainted him with the Comand of the
house but he still refused the Sending it.
Whereupon orderd the Serjeant Attendant imediatly bring
the said Mr Bordley before the Barr of this house to Answer
his Contempt
Soone after the said Bordley togeather with the Serjeant
enter the house &
Mr Speaker was pleasd to acquaint him of his contempt to
the house in disobeying their Comands And was orderd to
withdrawe
Then this house fully considerd and debated the same And
upon his Submission, it is agreed to be acquitted.
Mr Bordley appeares againe and Orderd he bring downe
the body of law belonging to the County. Which he did and
deliverd it to Mr Speaker and upon his Submission he was
discharg'd.
Upon reporte of the Comittee of Accots that Kent Charles
& Talbott County Sherriffs haue not returnd their lists of
taxable s.
Orderd thereupon that Mr Gerrard Fowlkes Attend his Excy
& Acquaint him that this house prays his Excy to send Ex-
presses for the lists And Comand the Shrffs forthwith to Ap-
peare And Answer their Contempt
Bill declaring the devision of Severall County's.
Bill laying An Imposicon on Severall Comodity's.
Bill laying An Imposicon of 9d p Gallon on rum
Bill for quieting possessions and enrolling Conveyances.
Bill Confirming to the Governor the duty of 3d p tonn
Bill for calling Grand & Pettit Iurors.
Bill for Selling A revenue on her Majts Govr for the time being
