A proposall relating to the Examiner Generalls Office being
brought into the house was orderd to be read which follows Vizt
To the honoble the house of Assembly now sitting.
It is humbly proposd that the Examiner Generalls Office
being found by Experience to be of great Utillity to the good
people of this province since the same was Erected inasmuch
as it prevents Seuerall mischeifs and inconveniences dayly
discoverd to the Great damage of severall people in the old
Surveys made before that office was sett up that the fees there-
of be incerted Among other officers fees by law Establisht

Which will be A great incouragement to the Examiner for the

time being to be very Carefull in All matters relating to that
office Whereas on the Contrary as the fees are now precarious
and only Setled by the Lord propry and his Councill there can
not be had a man fitt for the place that Will Accept of it the
present Examiner being upon laying downe his place unless
he may haue some Assurance of his fees
Its humbly Submitted to the honoble house wherein Are
knowne to be now sitting severall persons of Good Skill in the
mathematicks what fees the pains to be taken in that office
may Iustly deserve Especially in intricate Surveys which haue
many Courses &ca
Which being read the house is off opinion that Such an
Office is necessary.
