Thomas Tench and Iohn Hamond Esqrs enters the house
and delivers the following Message.

By the Councill in Assembly
Sepr 14 1704

Whereas Mr Alexandr Hall a Gent who has long Servd his
Countrey and Crowne of England as an officer Abroad in the
Warrs And has the honor to be Marryd to A relation to his
Excy the Governour therefore in Complement to his Excy came
over into the province with him And Wee desire he may be
capable of Serving her Majty in Some Small employment in
this province notwithstanding the Act prohibiting the same
the said Mr Hall being as Wee are credibly informed A very
honest Gent Signd p order W Bladen Cl Council

Which being read this house readily concurr therewith and
orderd the same be endorsd and returnd his Excy in Councill.

Bill Ascertaining the Gage of tob hogsheads

Read the Ist time and do pass wth Amendmt

Mr Thomas Frisby orderd to Attend Mr Coursey a member
for Talbott County into the house.

He enters the house with the said Mr Frisby Accordingly.

Bill Quieting possessions read the Ist time & Comitted for
Amendment

Orderd that Mr Iames Smallwood Mr Thos Frisby and Mr
Iohn Macall and Mr Thomas Beale Attend Mr Coursey to see
him Sworne.

They returne and say they saw him Sworne & Signe the
test and Abjuration

Bill declaring fees on private Acts etc.

Bill prohibitting the importation of bread &ca.

Bill and peticon of Dowlins to Confirme land.

Bill Appointing Court days.

Bill Ascertaining the Gauge of tob hogsheads.

Sent up to his Excy and Councill p Mr Robt Skinner Mr
Tiler and Mr Magruder.

They returne and say they deliverd the bills.

The Comittee of Agrievances enters the house & delivers
the reporte. orderd to be entred. vizt.

It is humbly offerrd that the exporting Iron out of this
province is A great Agreivance.

Jt is humbly offerrd as A great aggreivance to the inhabi-
tants of the back plantacons who by reason of their remote-
ness from the Water haue not the Advantage of landing places
for their Goods or Rolling houses to lay their tobacco in till
