Majts Secretary but that if it may be thought fitt to restore the
land records and the fees to his Lopps officers that Addiconall
240 shall be imediatly taken of and no more required and only
Single fees as formerly requird for the same And that the said
Records shall be put into such persons hands to keep As shall
from time to time be approovd of by his Excy the Governour
and Assembly And an oath and good Securety given for the
faithfull and carefull keeping of them, upon consideration
whereof it Appears A great Agreivance to the good people
of this province and discouragement to the people of it to pay
double price for the land and Allmost double fees for the
patients and since its proposed to be remedied and sufficient
Caution given for safe keeping the Records Wee humbly
pray your honours that A Conferrence may be had upon this
Subject and the persons now loynd in Conferrence upon the
business of New York may be chargd with this when that
other is dispatcht Signd p order Wm Taylard Cl h D.

Peter Watts enters the house & say they deliverd their bills
in the morning sent by them.

sent up to his Excy & Councill

Septr 14 1704.

Upon examination of the severall Rolls of the laws of this
province made in the severall Sessions of Assembly Wee finde
that from the first Setlement of the province to the revolucon
and from thence to the last Session of Assembly the Severall
Acts in each Sessions of Assembly was Annexd togeather
and seald with one Great Seale of the province And with the
Royall Assent to the same were Allways understood to be
sufficient but in the last Session of Assembly Wee finde that
each perticuler bill was Sealed with the great Seale and the
Royall Assent to every one singly and apart from the other
which Wee are Sencible will encrease the charge of the prov-
