Bill prohibitting Commissioners & Sherriffs to plead as
Attorneys
Bill for publication of Marriages
Bill providing what shalbe evidence to proove forreigne &
other debts.
Bill for preservation of Harbours.
Bill for Ascertaining Delegates and Com" Expences.
Bill for killing Woolves and Crows.
Bill against Excessive Usury.
Bill relating to the Standard of English Weights and
Measures.
Bill for Setlemt of an Anuall revenue on her Majts Gov-
ernour.
Bill agt purchasing timber of the Indians.
Bill for Advancement of the Natives.
Bill empowring Wm Sweatnam to sell land.
The Aboue bills Were sent up to his Excy & Councill by
Mr Thomas Beale Mr Wm Aisquith Mr Wm Watts and Mr
Feter Watts
The house Adjourns till 2 A Clock Afternoone.

The house met According to Adjournment were calld over
and present as in the Morning only Calvert County members
The message relating to the land records read and
Orderd to be sent up to his Excy and Councill.
Coll Thomas Smith Mr Iohn Wells Mr Robt. Skinner are
orderd to carry the same wch follows viz'

Septr 14 1704

The Comittee of Agreivances reported that the Lord Balte-
mores agents do Exact 480l tob for every 100 Acres and re-
fuse to give patients for the same till the purchase money be
paid Thereupon it was orderd that Mr Charles Carroll one
of his Lopps Agents hav0e notice to Attend this house to show

by What Authority he requires the same and Accordingly he

appeard this morning and said he had such instruccons from
the Lord Baltemore that he gave publiq notice thereof and he
produced and Gave in A Coppy of such publiq notice and says
the reason why his Loop requires 240 more then formerly was
because one halfe of the fees due to his Lopps officers on such
Warrants and grants was taken from them and given to her
