are the true ingredients to make any Country flourish as A
true obedience to the laws is the best true signe of honest Good
people A Charracter I would ever have you preserve, that All

mankind may know and Vallue yor Conduct Ioying heartily

with me in endeavours and Wishes You may prosper many
and many Yeares.
Gent. With all Modesty I acquaint you that nothing has
made me Uneasy Since my Arrivall in this province but the
illness of my house And if you shall think I deserve noe better
Accomodation during my Abode in the province J must
Acquiece with your Sentiments and endevour to be contented
being Resolved never to ask for or expect what at any time
You Iudge Unreasonable.
J am very confident there's no one here present but beleives
there was An absolute necessity of Convening a New Assem-
bly and Since her Majestys councill thought this A propper
time to meet them I cann never doubt but Your debates will
be temper'd with soe discreet a moderacon and candour this
Will be no long but an happy Session that our enemy's abroad
may See Wee are Unanimous and Vigilant, our freinds at
home know Wee are heartily loyall And the good people you
represent thanke you for your Loyalty to our Sovereigne,
Your care of and fidellity to your County with your Unwearied
Solicitudes and endeavours to oppose All her Majestys
Enemy's whatsoever And those likewise who shall ever pre-
tend to disturb the peace Wellfare and Union of this province
under any specious pretence whatsoever.
The dispatch of the many Great Affaires before you will be
A very Generous Ease to the province And as true A satisfac-
tion to me being obvious to All considering persons what A
detriment tis to every Gent mett here on this occasion to be
detained longer then the publiq Service may reasonably re-
quire, And the charge of the Countrey I hope may not be an
Impropper consideration to ripen your debates within the
Compass Your better Iudgments may thinke necessary to
bring this Sessions to an honourable Conclusion
Which being ended Mr Speaker and members having taken
leave of his Excy and Councill) returnd againe to the house
And Mr Speaker having taken the chaire
Jts orderd that his Excys Speech be read in the house.
Which being read its resolv'd that the consideration there-
of be referrd till fryday next in the Afternoone.
Moov'd by A Member of this house that A Comittee of
Election and privileidges might goe forth which was by the
