      Recr of the District of Putuxent Endorsed Vizt

   

      March the 11th 1699

      Reed the within Contents by me

      You are pursuant to an Act of Assembly of this province p. 254

    passed the Eleaventh day of October 1694 Intituled an Act for

    Settling a Revenue on his Matys present Governor being an

    Impost of three pence p hhd upon every hhd of Tobbacco

    Exported out of this province and by Virtue of an Order of

    Councill to pay unto me the Sume of Two hundred and fourty

    pounds fourteen Shillings and one peny half peny Sterling for

    which this shall be your Sufficient

   

    May it please your Excy     March the 16th 1698 p. 250

      My own particular private Occasions (with all possible Dis

    patch) Obliging me to be personally in England And So Con

    sequently cannot so well Discharge that Duty I Owe to his

    Maty and Government in the Station I am now in, humbly re

    quest Your Excellency to Appoint such a person as your Ex

    cellency shall think most proper to Succeed me in the place of

    Collector for the District of Putuxent untill his Matys pleasure

    be further known

                          I am Sr
