Moved by Mr Atty General how those Bills of Exc° P. 208 shall be taken for the dutys of tobo on Board the Several Ships in this Province before the tenth day of December last being the day on which his Excellency Fra Nicholson Esqr his Majestys late Captain General & Governor in chief of this Province & now Governor of Virginia by virtue of his Majestys Royal Commission entred upon the Government of that Colony Whereupon ordered that the Receivers & Naval Officers do take the said Bills payable unto his Excellency Nath Blakiston Esqr his Majestys Captain General & Governor in chief of this Province & that they the said Receivers & Naval Officers as also the Collectors take an exact accot from the several Masters of Ships upon their clearing of what Tobaccoes they had on Board before the said Tenth day of December last Mr Attorney Generals motion to his Excellency to settle the Fees of the Court of vice Admiralty is referred to the next meeting of the Board His Excellency is pleased to ask the Gentlemen of the Council what time they think most convenient for their next meeting & that the rest of the Gentlemen of the Council & those lately appointed may have due Notice to give their attendance likewise Whereupon advised & resolved that this Board do meet on Wednesday the 15th of March next ensuing & that the Clerk of the Council write to the several Members of the Board to give their attendance here at that time p 209 His Excellency is pleased to ask the Board if they have any thing at present further to offer for his MajstYs Service who say not

You are pursuant to his Matys Royall Instructions to me P. 253 bearing date at Whitehall the 8th day of March 1694 Vizt Whereas by an Act passed in the Assembly of Maryland the 30th day of March 1679 An Impost of 2s p hhd is laid on all Tobacco Exported out of our Said province one Moiety of which Impost is by the Said Act Appropriated for the use and Supporte of the Government Our Will and pleasure is that Towards the Maintenance of the Government of our Said province you take to your Own use three fourth part of the said Moiety of the Impost of two Shillings p hogshead of Tobbacco Appropriated as aforesaid by the said Act And you are to take Especiall Care that According to the Intentions of the said Act the remaining fourth part of the Moiety of the Impost be duly Applyed towards the Maintenance of a Con stant Magazine with Arms and Ammunition for the Defence of our said province and by an Order of Councill to pay unto me the sume of nine hundred Sixty Two pounds Sixteen Shil
