506 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1728.

Whereupon the said Edward Henry Calvert takes the Sever- all Oaths Appointed to be taken by Act of Assembly of this Province as also the Oath of Councellour and Subscribes the Oath of Abjuration and Test According to the Direction of the Act Aforesaid and takes his place at this Board Accord ingly Ordered that the Clerk of this Board Draw an Order on Coll Saml Young Treasurer of the Western Shoare payable to John Young for his Years Sallary for Cleaning the Arms &c Ending the 11th Day of January last to be paid out of the 3d p hhd for Arms &c.
p. 10 At a Council held at the House of His Excellency the Governor in the City of Annapolis on Thursday the 13th Day of February in the fourteenth year of his Lordps Dominion &c Annoq Domini 1728. Members of His Lordships Honourable Council His Excellency the Governor acquaints the Members of this Honourable Board that by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietarys Instructions He has appointed Mr John Ross Clerk of the Council within this Province And thereupon the said John Ross produces his Excellencys Commission to him for the same. On the back whereof it appears that the said John Ross has taken (before His Excellency) the several Oaths appointed to be taken by Act of Assembly of this Province, and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration and Test according to the Directions of the Act afd and the said John Ross having taken before this honourable Board the usual Oath for the due Execution of the afd Office is accordingly admitted The Tenour of which Commission is as follows.
