    the King the Queens and Frederick Prince of Wales Healths

    our Guns again firing to each Health and at Night there were

    more Bonfires and Houses Illuminated then ever had been

    seen in this place I cannot conclude before I beg you'll Be

    lieve that I shall embrace every Opportunity to demonstrate

    that I am with all Respect and Sincerity Imaginable

      Forasmuch as it Appears to this Board that his Royal High- p. 187

    ness the prince hath been proclaimed at Boston New York

    and Philadelphia (notwithstanding his Excellency hath no

    Regular Notice from England) it is the Opinion of this Board

    that he be here proclaimed and thereupon Resolved that

    his Royal Highness Prince George Prince of Wales be this

    day at Twelve of the Clock proclaimed King in this City

    King of Great Britain France and Ireland Defender of the

    Faith &c. Whereupon the following Proclamation was read

    and Approved of vizt

      By his Excellency Benedict Leonard Calvert Esqr Captain

    General and Lieutenant Governor &c

   

                     A Proclamation

   

      Whereas it hath Pleased Almighty God to call to his Mercy

    our late Sovereign Lord King George of blessed memory

    by whose decease the Imperial Crowns of Great Britain

    France and Ireland as also the Supream Dominion and Sove

    reign Right of the province of Maryland and all other his late

    Majestys Dominions and Territories in America are Solely and

    rightfully come to the high and mighty prince George Prince

    of Wales we therefore the Lieutenant Governor and Council

    being here Assisted with divers other Magistrates Gentlemen

    and principal Inhabitants of the said province with the Mayor P 198

    Recorder Aldermen and Common Council of the City of An

    napolis do now hereby with one full Voice and Consent of

    Tongue and Heart Publish and proclaim that the high and

    mighty Prince George Prince of Wales is now by the death

    of our late Sovereign of happy memory become our only lawful

    and rightful Liege Lord George the Second by the Grace of

    God King of Great Brittain France and Ireland Defender of

    the Faith Supream Lord of the said province of Maryland and

    all other his late Majestys Dominions and Territories in America
