                 378 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1721.

            

            Lib. x.    ships the right honble the Lord Proprietarys honble Council

                 further to prorogue the said General Assembly until the

                 twentieth day of February next Given at the City of Annap

                 olis under his Lordships the right Honble the Lord Proprie

                 tarys Greater seal at Arms this 4th day of November in the

              p. 27 8th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George

                 and in the 6th of our Dominion &c Annoq Domini 1721

            

                                             God save the King

                   Cha [Seal] Calvert and his Lordship

            

            

                   Colo Nathaniel Hynson of Kent County being sent for,

                 appears before this Board and declares as follows VIZt

                   That about fourteen years ago he being high Sheriff of

                 Cecil County then was a writt of Possession directed to him

                 to possess one Patrick Murphy of a Certain tract of Land

                 but that at that time there happened to be a division of Kent

                 and Cecil Countys it being his Lott to fall into Kent County

                 had not an opportunity of executing said Writt but that one

                 Mr Thomas Kelton who was appointed Sheriff of Cecil

                 County as said Hynson afterwards understood said Kelton

                 executed said Writt and had put said Murphy in possession

                 of the Land by him recovered and that afterwards said

                 Hynson had from Mr Kelton that Colo French from New

                 Castle had taken him Prisoner and Carried him to New

                 Castle upon his Executing said writt of Possession, upon

                 hearing of which said Hynson writt to the then Govr Sey

                 mour, who to the best of said Hynsons Remembrance writt

                 to him the said Hynson in Answer thereto, which Letter

                 he believes he has still by him the Substance of which said

                 Letter to the best of his Remembrance is that the Govr

                 said it was none of his Business to Contend about his Lord-

                 ships right

                   Thereupon Colo Hynson is desired by this Board to Lodge

                 with the Clerk thereof such Letters as he has by him re

                 lating to this Affair in order to be recorded

              p. 28    Resolved by the Members of this Board that his Honour

                 the Governor be desired to make a representation of the

                 Encroachment of the Pennsylvanians upon this Province to

                 his Lordship

            

            

            

              p. 29    At a Council held in the Council Chamber in the City

                 of Annapolis February 21t in the 8th year of the Reign of

                 our Sovereign Lord King George &ca and in the 7th year
